Mixed Media Journal

Good Afternoon everyone!  What is everyone up to today?

Unity stamp Company is one of my favorite rubber stamp makers.  About 75% of my collection comes from Unity.  They have quick-tip videos on their webpage and you should go like their Facebook page!  They have lots of live videos and occasionally they do giveaways.  Their website is http://unitystampco.com.

I recently was inspired by their live videos to start a mixed media journal/photo book.  They re-purposed an old cookbook and attached crumpled paper to the pages and then added stamps, photos, and little bobbles.  I went out to a second hand store and purchased by book below for just a couple dollars.  I will post more pictures once I start!  Let me know if you have done this before and how it went for you!

I hope you all have a wonderful Thursday!

Projects!

Good Morning!  I have a couple cards to show you that I have made!  These are the cards that were sent in for the Design Team Call for Some Odd Girl so here we go!

This first card was made using Some Odd Girl stamps Miss You Mae and colored with Copic markers.  I think she is so adorable!

This adorable boy from Stampendous was colored with Copic markers and I love the string and button detail!

This last card was made with three strips of paper rolled to look like candles.  This card was made at Scrapfest 2013 so I can't take credit for the candles but I think the candles are the cutest idea and will definitely be using that idea more!

Hope you all have a wonderful day!

Challenge

Good Afternoon!  Today is one of those nice but cold days, if that is even possible!  Grab a hot beverage and head on over to Some Odd Girl Blog http://www.someoddgirlblog.com/2014/03/pot-o-gold-challenge/ and check out the challenge that is going on!  It's a great way to get out those crafting supplies, experiment, and practice some new techniques!  I am going to challenge myself to do this challenge in an unconventional way and see how it turns out.  You will need to use Some Odd Girl Stamps or their digital image to participate!  The stamps are amazing so I would encourage you to purchase some goodies from them!

Pictures of Projects!

I am in the midst of packing up all my crafting tools temporarily for our home and really don't want to put them in boxes but now is a great time for me to post some of the projects I have completed.  Has anyone else realized just how much you have once you start packing?  Wowza!  I am trying to keep out some of my crafting supplies in case I still want a little creativity get away.

This is one of the tags that I decorated at Scrap Fest.  I love the versatility of tags and mixing all different types of embellishments together.

It has been a while!

It has been quite some time since I've posted!  I have done some new cards and crafts and will post them to the blog in the next couple of days.  I went to Scrapfest this year again in Minneapolis and had lots of fun!  It is sad to see Archiver's go out of business and Scrapfest dissolve.  It had become a yearly fall trip that I looked forward to the last three years and that is where I got a lot of my inspiration to start making cards and fun crafts and exposure to a lot of new products that I didn't know existed!  More to come later!
Have a wonderful Saturday!

Free Download

With Valentine's Day just around the corner I thought that this would be a fitting post.  Go to http://www.bobunny.com/lightbox/freebies.html and download the free desktop!  You can download both the calendar version and the non-calendar version.  I would suggest downloading the instructions on how to edit with software so you can put in your own photos.  I may use this as a Valentine's card.

Valentine's Day

Valentine's Day is just around the corner and I've been thinking about making some cards!  This is one of my favorite days because the hint of spring is on its way and in elementary school, it was always exciting to see what candy and cards you received from your classmates.  I loved making and decorating our little boxes or bags to put our Valentine's in.  Head over to the Saturated Canary (http://saturatedcanary.blogspot.com) for some valentine inspiration!

I am a huge fan of Unity Stamp Company and there is a great sale going on right now for some Valentine stamps! http://unitystampco.com/product-category/love-and-bravery-stamp-sale/
